This page is a tribute to a wonderful woman.
Her name is Evelyn. She is my mother.

I felt that she was the most unselfish woman in the world, working hard all her life for her family. She only had a high school diploma, but she was self-educated by her constant trips to the library, devouring books throughout her life.

She worked as a clerical typist at a manufacturing company close to her house so that she could be home at lunchtime for her daughters. She received many promotions, and with the age of big IBM computers, she was sent by her company to a school to learn the computer. In those days, computers had punch cards. She rose to supervisor at her company. Although she retired, she always missed the camaraderie of her friends at work.

Family gatherings called for the appearance of the Scrabble board. Even in her mid-eighties, she could beat you with her skills.

Although a daughter wants to keep her mother forever, it was time for her to go. This Irish lady will be a proud addition to heaven.
